A new religion in our culture is victimology. We see ourselves as victims and blame others. In reality, we are not victims but sinners and rebels. To experience the great joy of Christmas, we must first recognize ourselves as miserable sinners (the bad news) and look to Jesus in faith as the one who redeems us from our sin and then crowns us again with glory and honour (the good news; Ps 8.5).
